LIMITLESS (2027)

Researcher & Associate Producer for
a Documentary on Para athletes

Limitless is a documentary project that follows the world of Indian para-sport through the inspiring journey of 6 Para athletes. The film looks beyond medals and disability, focusing instead on discipline, training, family support, coaching, mental strength, and the quiet daily work that shapes an athlete. These athlete's story becomes a powerful way to explore resilience, ambition, body, dignity, and the rise of India’s para-athletes on the world stage.

As a Researcher and Associate Producer on the project, my role involves supporting the film’s research, helping build the subject’s background, identifying key emotional and sporting milestones, and contributing to the documentary’s narrative direction. I also assist in shaping the larger context around para-sport in India, Training process, their coaches, observational moments, and the human story behind her public achievements.

A Documentary on Mac Mohan

Discovering Sambha is a narrative feature documentary, currently in production, that follows filmmaker-sisters Manjari and Vinati Makijany as they rediscover their father, Mac Mohan,  the iconic actor remembered as Sambha from Sholay.

The film explores him not only as a familiar face in Indian cinema, but also as a father, artist, and cultural figure. Through archival material, interviews, family memories, and pop-culture nostalgia, the documentary looks at legacy, cinema, and the emotional bond between daughters and their late father.

As an
Assistant Researcher, my role involved supporting background research on Mac Mohan’s filmography, his contribution to Indian cinema, archival references, and the wider cultural impact of Sholay. This research helps in strengthening the film’s narrative, interviews, and archival direction. This film is still in production

What influences young adult's appreciation for old hindi music?

At SCM Sophia, one of my projects were a research project. This research explores the factors shaping young adults' appreciation of old Hindi music, focusing on nostalgia, cultural exposure, and accessibility. It examines why listeners in their 20s gravitate toward songs from the 1950s-1980s, comparing them with contemporary music. The study investigates perceptions of authenticity and emotional resonance, alongside social influences like family and media. Ultimately, it seeks to uncover patterns driving the resurgence of vintage Hindi melodies.

Magen David Synagogue: A story of the Jewish community through the tides of time.

This feature delves into the rich history and cultural significance of the Magen David Synagogue in Byculla, a striking blue landmark built by the influential Sassoon family. Once a thriving center for Mumbai’s Jewish community, the synagogue now struggles with neglect and a dwindling congregation. It explores the contributions of the Sassoons, the migration of Jews from Mumbai, and the synagogue’s fading presence in the city’s cultural landscape. Despite past restoration efforts, its interiors are deteriorating, reflecting the broader decline of one of Mumbai’s oldest communities. The piece also highlights the urgent need for preservation and leadership to revive its legacy.

DIGITAL_CITIZENSHIP.png

Research assistant-Tata Institute of Social Science

I had the opportunity to undertake a research internship on Digital Citizenship at TISS, working under Professor Faiz Ullah in the School of Media Studies and Communication. This internship, funded by the American-Jewish Consulate, allowed me to explore the intersection of technology and civic engagement in contemporary India. As part of my work, I authored a research essay that delved into how digital access, participation, transparency, and ethical use shape our understanding of citizenship today.

In my essay, I examined the digital divide, online misinformation, and the ethical challenges of digital spaces, emphasizing the need for digital literacy, equitable access, and responsible online behavior. Through case studies, I explored how digital platforms influence political discourse, activism, and cultural expression while also posing risks like cybercrime and hate speech.

THE INDIAN EXPRESS (2022)

Features writer (intern)

During my one-month internship at The Indian Express, I wrote five feature articles on Mumbai for both the digital and print editions, under the guidance of Alaka Sahani. My pieces captured the city's diverse culture, history, and everyday life through in-depth research and storytelling. The DVD rental article was reposted by the Film Heritage Foundation on the platforms.

CO-AUTHOR

I contributed to a published anthology of poems exploring the theme of unsaid words and feelings. Through evocative verse, my work delves into unspoken emotions, hidden thoughts, and the depth of human experiences that often go unheard. This collection brings together diverse voices, each capturing the power of silence and the weight of unexpressed emotions. (page 87 for my poem!!!)
